We present a home-style version of a drink featured on a new drinks list. It's a batch prepared mix that's loaded full of essence of a holiday season, rendering it perfect for hosting a holiday party. Reserve the remaining syrup for brunch beverages, desserts, or for more rounds of this cocktail.

Makes enough for 10 guests
To make the Clementine Syrup (yields 750ml)
300ml recently pressed clementine juice
200ml recently pressed lemon juice
500g caster sugar
For the Drink (makes 850ml, enough for 10)
400ml decent vodka
100ml London dry gin
150ml peach-flavored liqueur
200ml citrus syrup (as made above)
Fresh cranberries, for garnish
Mandarin essential oil, as a final touch
Method
To prepare the Cordial: Combine the listed ingredients inside a pan, heat until it reaches a light boil, mixing to dissolve. Next, remove from the burner and leave to cool down fully. Transfer to a sealable bottle, close it keeping it in the refrigerator, it can be stored for up to four weeks.
To make Batch Mix: Pour every liquid ingredients in a sizeable container, allow it to infuse for one hour, then strain , ideally through cheesecloth, so it's fully clarified.
When ready to serve: Measure 85ml of the premix into your cocktail shaker filled with ice, gently stirring lightly for a minute until cold. Pour into an chilled martini glass or equivalent, decorate with the cranberries and finish using a quick spritz with the mandarin essence above the glass.
